Dr. Christine Adamo is a board certified, holistic medical physician. She practices functional medicine, herbal medicine, nutrition, natural supplementation, acupuncture, and detoxification. Her training is in internal medicine and she treats a variety of conditions such as digestive disorders, cardiovascular complaints, neurological issues, autoimmune diseases, and pain.
Dr. Adamo’s passion is in integrative oncology, providing specialized care for patients with cancer. She brings relief to patients struggling with the side effects of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation, and surgery and provides post-treatment and survivorship care. She also offers holistic assistance to patients who choose to bypass conventional cancer care.
Dr. Adamo is a graduate of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California. While attending Pacific College, she interned at
- San Diego Cancer Center, treating in oncology and hematology
- San Diego Hospice, focusing on pain management and palliative care
- San Diego Rady Children’s Hospital, treating in oncology, hematology, and chronic pain.
She received post-graduate training in China at both the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She interned at the universities’ hospitals to advance her knowledge and skills in oncology, cardiology, and pediatrics.
Dr. Adamo stays current with the latest research and clinical applications of natural medicine in cancer care. Each year she attends the Integrative Oncology Training Conference at the University of Texas MD Anderson, named the top hospital for cancer in the United States. She is also an active member of the Society for Integrative Oncology and attends their national conference annually.
In addition, Dr. Adamo teaches various classes on Traditional Chinese Medicine as well as Integrative Oncology. She has been an instructor for the Osher Lifelong Learning Program at California State University, San Marcos. She also teaches continuing education classes for doctors, medical students, and other licensed health care providers.
Dr. Adamo has a private practice in the North County of San Diego. She’s worked as part of the integrative medical team at California Cancer Associates for Research and Excellence (cCARE) for the past ten years and was a co-founder and owner of the San Diego Center for Integrative Oncology.
